Bike Gear
Please wear your most comfortable kit and bring even more comfortable kit for day 2! Also use a comfortable bike, e.g. endurance road bike if you have that. We recommend wheels with tubes rather than tubless (easy to repair). Best if everything is well tested, e.g. wrong time to try out your new fancy shoes. No TT bikes!
The Night Before
Remember to charge all your phone, lights, pedals, gears and bike computer the night before. If your bike computers battery life is less than 12 hours consider bringing a battery pack + cable for charging during lunch break.
Getting to the start point
After years of doing group rides in JB we have learned a few things. Like most who fail to complete fail because they make one or more of the following mistakes: start too hard, don’t drink enough, don’t eat enough.
If you worry about the length of the ride you can shorten it by either riding to JB on Friday evening and stay in a fine hotel just a few meters from the breakfast place (about 30-100 SGD) or get a car to Woodlands Road Esso station which will be our meeting point in SG, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Snj9rtJx9M28xcZf6. If you plan to ride there from home do a test ride so you know the way and how long it will take you (we’ve had people getting lost in Singapore on their way to the meeting point, don’t make that mistake). It is not fun rushing to the start point before a long ride, and we don’t have a lot of buffer.
